Fast Facts: Dr. Mills is a pediatrician who has served as Our Lady's Pediatric Emergency Department medical director. She earned her medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, and her Master's of Health Care Management from the Harvard University School of Public Health.

Why she's so fierce: Mills, a well-known champion of health IT and expert in implementation planning, workflow redesign, and clinician engagement, was promoted from CMIO at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center to the dual CIO/CMIO role at the hospital's parent organization after leading an EMR implantation and upgrading infrastructure to handle huge influx of new patients after Hurricane Katrina. Mills won staff over by framing the implementation as a quality-improvement project rather than an IT project. She currently sits on the Vision 2020 Steering Committee of the Catholic Health Association of the United States.
