SPOTLIGHT: Siemens and the University of Pennsylvania
Siemens Healthcare has won a seven-year, $135 million contract from the University of Pennsylvania Health System to provide integrated service management, the company announced last week. The deal, which extends a previous eight-year contract, requires the German vendor, which has its U.S. headquarters outside Philadelphia, to assure 24/7 access to diagnostic systems and other medical devices from multiple manufacturers, and Siemens will do so by a remote data link for continuous monitoring. Siemens also will provide consulting services for workflow optimization and training for in-house service engineers. Press release
