SPOTLIGHT: MGMA's ID card initiative gets support

For some time now, the Medical Group Management Association has been pushing payers to issue standard member ID cards using a magnetic strip to read patient insurance info. The group says this step could cut the cost of billing errors about $2.2 billion per year.
