SPOTLIGHT: Group promotes decision-support tech to screen imaging for appropriateness

An alliance--including providers, technology companies and diagnostic imaging groups--has begun making the rounds, promoting the use of decision-support systems to help providers pick the most appropriate times to use imaging tests. The group says that as providers of such technology, which integrates millions of clinical results and established guidelines, both doctors and patients will be more comfortable with such decisions than if a remote radiology benefits manager gets involved.
