CEOs urge laws offering EMR incentives

While government officials have been pressuring providers to adopt EMRs for years, healthcare buyers haven't taken as strong of a public stand. Last week, however, some of the top CEOs in the U.S. spoke up to say that they believe EMRs should be among Congress's top priorities in the coming months. At a Capitol Hill briefing, members of the Business Roundtable, a group of about 160 CEOs of top U.S. companies, supported legislation that would offer incentives to providers for adopting EMRs.
