SPOTLIGHT: BCBS Association plans healthcare IT reforms
So what if the soon-to-be Obama administration doesn't kick off big healthcare reforms? The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association of America plans to make some big moves anyway, including a big health IT push. The association just unveiled a five-point plan for reform that would, among other things, call for healthcare IT use as a requirement. Other steps include promoting health awareness, fostering public-private coverage solutions and paying for performance. Article
