Fast facts: Aside from her duties as the Chief Health Informatics Officer for the Veterans Health Administration, Fischetti also serves as the VHA's liaison to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. Fischetti is also an elected Member at Large on the Health Level 7 Board of Directors, and a Federally appointed Board of Director member of the Health Information Technology Standards Panel.

Why she's so fierce: Since succeeding Dr. Robert Kolodner at the VA when he became national coordinator for health IT, Fischetti now oversees the massive VistA EMR implementation at the largest healthcare system in the U.S. She also is in charge of the ongoing integration of clinical records between the VA and the Military Health System.
