The skinny: McKesson Technology Solutions, the company's IT division, accounts for less than 3 percent of the corporation's $108.7 billion in overall revenues for the 12 months ended March 31, 2010, according to the McKesson 2010 annual report. McKesson does not list compensation for the heads of its operating units.

Hammergren's impressive pay package of $54.6 million was 4.3 percent of McKesson's net income of $1.26 billion. He earned nearly $37.2 million in fiscal 2009. The greatest difference in 2010 was a $20.2 million increase in the value of Hammergren's pension benefits.
