The California Healthcare Foundation sures knows how to burn money. First they spend $10 million on an exchange that never exchanges and now they plan to spend another $700,000 to make this software open source. Mendocino California already funded an open source solution called OpenHRE that was recently demonstrated to AHIC and HHS/ONC. OpenHRE is already freely available and in use by a number of HIEs. How many open source exchange solutions do we need?
