EMRs pose new legal risks
Comments
I've been caught up in the EMR mess. I was just doing my job and the large company I worked for decided that I wasn't so they fired me. My doctor even tried to help me to no avail. So be very careful what you do, even if it is a part of your job!
I fail to see how this differs from the current status with paper charts: someone entering correct or incorrect data into a chart progress note created and signed by a doctor. An electronic chart is still a chart. Too many are trying to create work opportunities based on the emerging but not new technology. Just look at the rest of the world.
Lawyers can make a mess of anything, clearly.
This is just a threat by lawyers that they intend to screw up EHRs if you don't pay them off to "protect you."
Kill all the lawyers!
