Columnist: Patient apathy to blame for PHR failures
Patient apathy is the primary reason for the failure of personal health records, according to InformationWeek Healthcare columnist Paul Cerrato. While security concerns certainly are prevalent, Cerrato said, more Americans care about their cars than their health. "[M]ost people want to see a doctor only when something breaks down, and then they expect a pill or procedure to make things right," he wrote. "Healthcare for most Americans is about having someone else 'make it better,' not about personal responsibility." Commentary
