Given the growth in the volume of information physicians need to access, it's critical that educators help them access it--by making full use of IT. That's the conclusion drawn by Darrell Kirch, MD, the keynote speaker at last week's Collaborative Communications Summit. At the summit, which addressed ways to transform healthcare through HIT, Dr. Kirch suggested that IT can help with medical education in several ways, including simulation training and easier access to cross disciplinary information and evidence-based standards.
